Responsibilities and Duties

  •  To provide professional contract management/ administration to a consistently high standard
  • To communicate, organise, negotiate and assess all forms of contract/commercial administration

 Contract Administration

  • Management of Change process, including submission of claims, variations, compensation events, time impacts;
  • Work with project programmes to determine impacts on time in the change process. Programme delay analysis;
  • Supplier and sub contractor management, use of communication and negotiation skills to develop relationships
  • Estimating and record keeping
  • Issuing of notifications including early warnings and maintaining correspondence
  • Negotiation and communication of account closures

 Finance and Progress Management

  • Knowledge and understanding of the budgeting process;
  • Providing effective communication to the Finance Department on project developments relating to budgets and cash flow;
  • Monitoring and measuring of the budget progress;
  • Monthly reporting.
  • Support Procurement Process
  • Experience of dealing with supplier and sub-contractor contracts
  • Management of tender packages and subcontracts
  • Understanding of NEC preferable

 Risk Management

  • Understanding and management of risk and its impact on the project process;

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience within a QS environment
  • Airport experience ideal
  • Broad experience/knowledge of the commercial/contracts arena
  • Mechanical  & Electrical /Automation background would be an advantage.
  • Previous procurement and tendering experience
  • Excellent contract awareness with experience of managing standard forms of contract.
  • Ability to work independently and have proven negotiation skills coupled with project management experience
  • Effective and proactive team player
  • Thorough understanding of budgets and financial constraints
  • Good communication, commercial and organisation skills essential
  • IT skills: Microsoft Excel essential, JD Edwards/Primavera preferable

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Membership of a professional body (i.e. RICS, CIOB,ACostE) is preferable.
