Summary of MEP Consultant Director Job Vacancy - Hong Kong

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Country Manager, you will lead the buildings division, responsible and accountable for project delivery, work winning, financial management, people development and general management. Projects include, rail stations, airport terminals, sports stadia, hospitals, super high rise towers and mixed use developments 

 Project Delivery

  • Including timeliness, quality, risk management, project financial performance and scope management in line with company methodology. 
  • Responsible for the performance of subcontractors and contract workers 
  • Responsible to effectively utilise resources

 Winning Work & Client Relationships

  • Generation of revenue for the division through client relationships, proposals, tenders and bids 
  • Accountable for the division's participation in all major tenders and proposals 

 Financial Management

  • Accountable for the financial performance of the division 
  • Accountable for managing project profitability and financial contribution from the division in accordance with plans and budgets 

 People Management & Competency Development

  • Leading, managing, developing and motivating employees to ensure a high performing and engaged division 
  • Ongoing development of careers and competencies within the division 
  • Ensuring participation and contribution to knowledge management, including sharing of knowledge, resources and work across the division  
  • Staffing levels in the division 
  • Harnessing the skills and competencies which are able to contribute to the division delivery 

 General Management

  • Responsible for the division's contribution to the success of the regional office 
  • Accountable for business planning and provide input to the regional and global group strategic plans 
  • Responsible for the compliance to company policies and procedures, legislative requirements and act as a role model for Company's values and behaviours 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10 years experience in a Team Leader role
  • Demonstrable experience in the design, engineering & delivery of complicated buildings eg sports stadia, rail stations, airport terminals, super high rise, hospitals, mixed use developments   
  • Strong project management and leadership skills 
  • Strong business and financial acumen 
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills - a strong collaborator 
  • Achievement and action orientated; solutions focussed 
  • Well-developed leadership, communication, presentation and influencing skills. Cantonese language skills highly desirable. 
  • Ability to adapt to work effectively across geographic and cultural boundaries

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered Member of appropriate professional institution
