A Works Supervisor is required to work for one of the Midlands leading civil engineering contractors who are based in Leicester.

As the Works Supervisor, you will report to the Site Agent and must be prepared to work on one or multiple sites and be responsible for all the setting out, overseeing quality control and generally any technical issues that may arise.

Project Details

The company are capable of working on a range of civil engineering projects and typically work with local authorities, academic institutions, property developers and as a sub contractor for larger main contractors. Typical types of work they are involved in includes:

- Utilities and Highways Frameworks
- Minor and Major highways schemes
- Bridge Maintenance
- Infrastructure
- Car Parks
- Reinforced Concrete Frames
- Regeneration Scheme

Responsibilities and Duties

• To undertake a supervisory, technical, and organisational role on each project on which you are involved
• Work as part of the site management team including liaising with Clients, Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, as appropriate
• Setting out, levelling and surveying the site as necessary
• Checking of drawings, specification, employers requirements and all other design related documents to ensure clarity
• Maintain as-built records for all completed works
• Overseeing quality control and all other technical issues
• To manage all aspects of on-site health and safety
• Brief Skilled Operators on method statements, risk and COSHH assessments and ensure adherence at all times as part of the site induction process
• Report all accidents / incidents / near misses to appropriate persons
• Ensure site records, photographs are taken and maintained for all works
• Identify and advise on training needs for workforce
• To manage all aspects of on-site environmental procedures
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures at all times
• To be the company representative in the absence of the Site Agent
• Any other duties as and when required within the scope of the role
• Assist the Site Agent in all other aspects as required

Desired Skills and Experience

- Candidate's must have previous experience in an on-site role assisting the Site Agent / Site Manager
- Candidates will ideally have a good working knowledge of projects such as highway works including reinstatements, deep and shallow drainage, bridgeworks and other general civil engineering works
- Proficient in the use of I.T. including the use of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Project and outlook
- Good working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental issues
- Have some exposure in identifying and assessing contractual risks, preparing method statements and safe systems of work

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

- CSCS Card holder - minimum Supervisor level
- Confined Space trained
- Ideally educated to HND level or similar equivalent as a minimum
- Previous experienced in using CAD would be advantageous
