Building Services Engineer

We have been retained by niche design and engineering consultancy to find a high calibre , dynamic and career orientated qualified electrical / FS engineer to second into a major transportation and infrastructure group in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities and Duties

• You will work within the technical and engineering Services Department which is responsible for all engineering works in existing operations
• Provide design, design management, design coordination for Capital and Revenue (C&R) works
• Control, manage, coordinate with other designated consultants / designers or in house resources for design and installation / implementation including interfacing requirements on building services provisions
• Control, manage, coordinate, attendance for testing & commissioning with some overnight work
• Prepare and update necessary design documents such as cost estimates, preliminary design proposal, tender specifications, tender drawings, design calculations and justification, schedule of rates etc. for tender purposes
• Prepare tender documents and provide tender evaluation
• Prepare statutory submissions to local authorities such as Safety & Security Coordinating Committee (SSCC), Station and Transport Integration Committee (STIC), Fire Services Department , Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Water Supplies Department etc.
• Carry out feasibility study, technical study, incident investigation etc. and prepare relevant report
• Attend site survey, scheduled and ad-hoc design and design /project meetings
• Perform on-site design verification of the building services installations
• Check, review and comment on design submissions from contractors or station shop tenants including design proposals, shop drawings, equipment /materials method statements, T&C results, statutory submissions, as – built drawings, O&M manuals etc.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Fluent Cantonese speaker for general communication and good command of English for email, correspondence and report drafting
• Experience in building services design, coordination, project administration, installation, testing & commissioning and handover
• 3-5 years experience in Electrical / Fire Services discipline
• Able to coordinate, supervise and work independently
• Competency in MS Office / MS Project applications / AutoCAD
• Good interpersonal, project management and site supervision skills.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Higher Diploma holder or above in BS Engineering or related disciplines with 3-5 years post grad experience
