French and English speaking Cost Analyst needed for leading cost and project management consultancy in Montreal, Canada.

Project Details

A Cost Analyst is required to provide technical support for a variety of cost consulting services to new and existing clients.
Estimates and monitoring all related reports could be issued in both French and English.
Therefore, we require the Analyst to be fluent in both French and English.

Responsibilities and Duties

•Provide assistance to staff to deliver a full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients.
•Escalate issues to next level of management as required.
•Participate with the project team to achieve the goals within the parameters set for financial, time and people resources.
•Accurately complete time sheets on a daily basis ensuring non-billable time and recoverable expenses are clearly outlined.
•Utilize existing corporate standards as it relates to documentation.
•Work cooperatively with team members across the division.
•Abide by corporate health and safety policies and procedures.
•Detain appropriate Health & Safety requirements to complete construction site inspection in Province of Quebec (ASP Certification)
•Wear protective safety equipment when required.
•Understanding of professional/ethical standards
•Typical office environment with little exposure to disagreeable elements.
•Periodic visits to construction sites / high-rise developments with some exposure to weather elements.
•Normal physical activity such as periodic standing, walking, sitting and the use of basic motor skills.
•Moderate to high demands due to multiple projects and client driven timelines.
•Willing to travel as required.
•As per client and corporate requirements – flexibility required with significant time investment during periods of heavy demand.

Desired Skills and Experience

•1-3 plus years of related experience
•Basic understanding of the construction industry including development, contracting and consulting sectors
•CIQS standard method of measurement – elemental/trade
•Provincial Lien Act
•Standard contract conditions – CCDC
•LEED
•Member of RICS / CIQS / AEECQ / LEED / Other
•Ongoing maintenance of CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
•Knowledge of site safety issues – basics of fall protection.
•Undertake and complete site visits & progress reports.
•Understand construction schedules.
•Assist in completion of valuation of work in place.
•Understanding of general contract vs. construction management forms.
•Inputting/reconciling construction cost / budget reports.
•Ability to set up and use spreadsheets – preliminary/monthly.
•Ability to review and understand invoices/input and reconcile borrower’s costs.
•Ability to prepare and review technical reports and summarize
•Understand sales & inventory summary/deposit.
•Assist in co-ordination & delivery of reports.
•Ability to learn and use appropriate software and technology such as Microsoft Project and other Scheduling/Project management software.
•Prepare drawing lists.
•Blueprint reading level –intermediate.
•Completion of project statistics/functional areas.
•Completion of project descriptions & assumptions.
•Basic understanding of construction methodology.
•Research abilities – general.
•Understanding of Standard Method of Measurement and other industry standards.
•Knowledge of site safety issues – basics of fall protection.
•Ability to learn and use appropriate software and technology such as CostX, OnScreen Takeoff, AutoCAD, Timberline, Excel, Work, Digitizer and PowerPoint.
