An attractive opportunity for an Electrical Manager to join a leading premium London based refurbishment Contractor working to manage multiple sites & Site Managers working on premium Central London refurbishment jobs £1-8m in value. Projects include complex and high value refurbishment works including cut and carve, basements and adding extra floors to existing buildings.

Company projects will typically be high value complex refurbishments and structural work on buildings including basements and extensions, based in Central London for premium private clients.

Typical value of recent projects has been between £2m - £10m and they boast as prestigious client list which includes the Crown Estate.

Responsibilities and Duties

As Electrical Manager, you will be responsible for all in-house electrical & M&E elements on all refurbishment projects for the company, and your Electrical Manager job duties (similar to a Site Manager but with an M&E focus) will include:

  • Responsibility for M&E works on all company refurbishment jobs £1m-£8m in value, with all work and trades completed in house
  • Able to liaise with consultants to gain approvals for work to be done and construction refurbishment work completed to allow payment to be made
  • Able to understand and work to efficient construction sequences
  • Organise your own work schedule and resource projects accordingly
  • Able to manage multiple sites and Site Managers concurrently
  • Understand construction materials and be able to procure M&E elements efficiently such as light fittings to client spec etc
  • Able to co-ordinate with specialist supply chain subcontractors handling complex fire alarm and or security systems
  • Be able to liaise directly with top end discerning clients and their representatives
  • Work closely with the company team including Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, structural engineers and the client’s representatives.
  • Report to the company directors as required on site progress

Desired Skills and Experience

Suitable Electrical manager job applicants will need to have:

  • Experience as an Electrical Manager / M&E Site Manager / M&E Site Agent / M&E General Foreman or equivalent with experience having had responsibility for all in-house electrical & M&E elements on multiple concurrent projects of around £2m - £10m in value.
  • Experience of having management responsibility for M&E works on all company refurbishment jobs £1m-£8m in value, with all work and trades completed in house
  • Experience of liaising with consultants to gain approvals for work to be done and construction refurbishment work completed to allow payment to be made
  • A good understanding and experience of crating efficient construction work sequences
  • Able to organise your own work schedule and resource projects accordingly
  • Able to manage multiple sites and Site Managers concurrently
  • Possess a good understanding of construction materials and have experience of how to procure M&E elements efficiently such as light fittings to client spec etc
  • Capable of  co-ordinating with specialist supply chain subcontractors handling complex fire alarm and or security systems
  • Experience of direct liaison and interface with top end discerning clients and their representatives
  • Experience of working closely with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, structural engineers and the client’s representatives on the M&E elements of construction or refurbishment construction projects
  • Experience of reporting to the company directors as required

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

A Degree in a construction discipline is desired but is not essential
