Environmental Manager job vacancy to work for the client owner engineer on civils infrastructure work in the Vancouver region on massive flood repair work to highways and bridge structures valued at $Billions of Canadian Dollars

Project Details

Environmental Manager job vacancy to work for the owner’s engineer to take the lead on all environmental matters on civils infrastructure work following major storms in British Columbia, Canada in November 2021.

There has been catastrophic flooding and mudslides that has caused the destruction of highways, roads, houses, bridges and critical infrastructure.  Critical rail and highway routes to and from Canada’s ports have been damaged and many highways have been washed away and many vital bridges destroyed.

Some critical rail routes have been reinstated, but many major highways require major construction works to redesign and rebuild the structures and travel routes.  Existing highways also need to be raised to ensure resilience to future flooding.

An Environmental Manager is needed to assist numerous concurrent projects underway to reinstate and improve the resilience of critical highway and bridge infrastructure as quickly as possible.

In particular, the Environmental Manager needs to ensure the projects are undertaken in accordance with the environmental plan and subject to all applicable regulations and permits.

An Environmental Manager with a broad understanding of environmental issues alongside a good knowledge of project development and project management would be ideal.
