Managing Quantity Surveyor

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding business which can provide excellent scope for future career development and progression. This is an office based role and you will lead a team of Quantity Surveying staff on Pre-Contract Services for projects in Malaysia and the wider Asia region.

Project Details

Major commercial projects including: High Rise, Office, Retail, Hospitality, Civil Infrastructure and Rail developments.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying & Cost Planning Services team
• Report directly to the Directors in Malaysia
• Oversee quantification, bill preparation, cost planning and other related tasks
• Handle direct client interaction, marketing and further business development for the company
• Prepare internal cost plan, cashflow, resource management, staff training and future growth strategy

Desired Skills and Experience

•  Substantial previous relevant experience working with consultants, and ideally with some time spent working for a Contractor
•  MEP and large scale building project experience is an advantage
•  Previous Asia experience and market knowledge is preferred
•  Strong communication skills in English
•  Strong cost planning skills and the ability to prepare detailed estimates
•  Experienced in developing systems and procedures for internal use
•  Familiarity with CostX measurement and other measurement software is preferred

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Degree in quantity surveying or related discipline
• Chartered status such as MRIC is preferred
