A major specialist facade, curtain walling and roofing contractor with offices throughout Asia is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated facade and cladding Technical Director to join their team based out of Hong Kong. Project Details
Our client is flexible with regards to where you are located, however, you must be willing to travel throughout Asia and Australasia to projects sites and to design offices.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Responsible for the technical function of the business across multiple geographies including design, procurement, manufacturing, purchasing, sequencing, installation and O&M of specialist façade, cladding and roofing solutions.
• Critical input to project delivery, work winning, financial management, people development and general management.
• Lead a technical team of talented design engineers across multiple offices
• Effective resource planning, training and skills development
• Develop and implement effective group quality and safety management systems
• Develop and implement effective procurement and purchasing strategy and programme
• Responsible for production output and programme
• Critical input to value engineering and construction methodology
• Critical input to proposals, tenders and bids.
• Manage, develop and motivate design teams.
• Accountable for the commercial success of design input to projects.
Desired Skills and Experience
• 20 years’ experience in construction, project management on complex building projects
• Broad knowledge and experience of the following design systems:
- Rhino 6 including Grasshopper
- Logikal
- Auto-cad 2D
• Broad experience of façade, cladding and roofing design and installation
• Strong leadership skills, project management skills and business acumen
• Previous Asia working experience is much preferred
• Strong relationship and interpersonal skills, a collaborator.
• Achievement and action orientated; solutions focussed.
• Well-developed communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Ability to adapt to work effectively across geographic and cultural boundaries.
• Fluent in verbal and written English
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Degree or diploma in a construction related discipline
