Responsibilities and Duties
The Assistant Project Manager will work as part of a professional consultancy team delivering project management services to infrastructure clients. Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Support the Senior Project Manager in the day-to-day delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Assist with the preparation and management of project deliverables for clients
- Help prepare client reports, briefing notes, project updates, progress summaries and presentation materials
- Attend client, consultant, contractor and internal project meetings
- Take clear meeting notes and convert key points into action plans, trackers and follow-up documentation
- Liaise with project team members to monitor actions, deadlines and project deliverables
- Assist with preparing and presenting project information to clients and senior stakeholders
- Support project planning, scheduling, estimating and project controls activities
- Review project documentation, drawings, schedules, specifications and contractor submissions
- Help identify project risks, issues, delays and coordination challenges
- Support the preparation of project status reports, programme updates and commercial information
- Work with the Senior Project Manager to develop proposals, fee submissions and client presentations
- Build capability to contribute to business development and future work-winning activity
- Coordinate information between engineers, consultants, contractors, client representatives and internal team members
- Maintain accurate project records, action logs, meeting documentation and project correspondence
- Support procurement, change management and contract administration tasks where required
- Contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects from a project management consultancy perspective
