Clerk of Works job role in Cambridgeshire with a successful and long established multi-disciplinary property consultancy. As Clerk of Works for the area, you will be responsible for inspecting and reporting on sites around Cambridgeshire. Applicants with MICWCI membership accreditation (awarded by the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate) are particularly welcome to apply.

Project Details

As Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for delivering a Clerk of Works service to private social housing clients in the Cambridgeshire region.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a member of the Clerk of Works team covering the Cambridgeshire area, you will have responsibility to:

  • Verify compliance with contractual drawings, warranty standards and employer’s requirements
  • Prepare written reports with supporting photographs to a high standard and submit in a timely manner using specialist software
  • Complete regular inspections to record any defects identified during the construction process which become apparent during or after completion of works. Ensure these are communicated and escalated to the appropriate person as identified within the contract.
  • Organise snagging and end of defect inspections with the client
  • Maintain a good client relationship throughout
  • Keep yourself up to date with building regulations and compliance

Desired Skills and Experience

A strong candidate for this Cambridgeshire Clerk of Works role will:

  • Have worked in a Clerk of Works role previously and be able to take up the role without direct line management on a day to day basis
  • Possess a Good knowledge of current Building Regulations and Warranty provider standards
  • Be experienced and thorough in reporting processes and escalating potential issues at the appropriate time.
  • Demonstrate an attention to detail / inquisitive nature.
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office 360 e.g. Word, Outlook & Excel.
  • Have experience in passive fire safety
  • Have experience of using tablet based digital inspection software.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Applicants with MICWCI membership accreditation (awarded by the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate) are particularly attractive candidates
