An opportunity has arisen for a Delay Consultant to be based in Singapore and work with leading delay experts in a specialist construction disputes team.
The successful candidate is likely to support major building, infrastructure, energy, transportation and engineering disputes, helping clients progress complex delay claims and arbitration matters towards successful resolution.

Responsibilities and Duties
As a Delay Consultant within a specialist construction disputes team in Singapore, you will support senior experts and assist clients with the preparation, analysis and resolution of complex delay-related disputes.
Duties are expected to include:
- Working with senior delay experts and the wider Singapore team on arbitration and formal dispute resolution matters
- Assisting with delay analysis on construction projects using accepted industry methodologies
- Reviewing and analysing construction programmes, updates, progress records and contemporaneous project documentation
- Supporting the preparation and assessment of extension of time claims and disruption-related matters
- Delivering contract administration and planning-related advice
- Assisting with the development of claims and disputes strategies aligned with client objectives
- Supporting Expert Witnesses with the preparation of detailed expert reports, rebuttal reports and joint statements
- Drafting clear, accurate and well-reasoned written submissions relating to delay, disruption and programme matters
- Assisting with the preparation of robust evidence for use in arbitration, litigation, adjudication or other dispute resolution forums
- Contributing to dispute avoidance, construction claims jobs and construction dispute resolution jobs across Singapore and the wider Asia region
Desired Skills and Experience
The employer is seeking a commercially minded construction professional with strong analytical ability and experience relevant to delay, planning and dispute work. Suitable candidates are likely to demonstrate the following:
- Around 3 or more years of experience in the construction industry in planning, project controls or engineering
- Experience in delay analysis, extension of time claims preparation or assessment, and programme review would be ideal.
- Previous local experience in Singapore.
- Good understanding of the technical, commercial and contractual challenges facing the construction industry
- Strong written English and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with large volumes of data and documentary evidence in a structured manner
- Experience using relevant software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Primavera P3, Suretrak or similar planning tools
- Prior exposure to arbitration, expert witness support or formal dispute resolution proceedings would be advantageous
