An Estimator is required to work for a Yorkshire and Midlands based contractor who work on a range of new build and refurbishment projects. The hiring company handle tenders on a range of new build, refurbishment and Design & Build projects ranging from £1m - £20m and the York office specifically deals with tenders at the lower value end of that range.

Therefore, the successful candidate's role  will be kept fresh and interesting by working on tenders for a diverse set of projects with a range of reputable clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Appraising Tender Documents
  • Preparing subcontract and material enquiries
  • Measurements
  • Risk & Value Management
  • Preparation of Budgets
  • Estimates & Cost Plans
  • Client Presentations

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an Estimating role is essential
  • Candidate's will ideally have tendered for projects similar to that of which the company specialise in
  •  Enthusiastic and driven individual who will strive to succeed in winning work
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Candidate will ideally hold a relevant formal qualification such as a HND or BSc (or similar equivalent)
