A unique opportunity for an experienced Fire Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary technical team operating across the UK and wider EMEA region.

The successful candidate will lead and support complex fire engineering projects, including external wall fire risk assessments, remediation programmes and forensic investigations. This role offers a clear opportunity to help develop a specialist fire engineering practice within an established global consultancy.

This position can be based anywhere in the UK, with travel required to head offices & client offices as and when required.

Project Details

The successful Fire Engineer will join a broad, multidisciplinary technical team working closely with the consultancy’s established Forensic Services division.

The role will involve delivering fire engineering services across complex residential and commercial built-environment projects. Assignments may include fire strategies, external wall assessments, remediation programmes, technical investigations and expert-related work.

The Fire Engineer will collaborate with specialists from several disciplines, including technical, quantum, delay and insurance teams. This provides an excellent opportunity to develop broader forensic experience and contribute to high-profile disputes and investigations.

In addition to technical delivery, the successful candidate will help grow the fire engineering service, strengthen client relationships and mentor junior colleagues.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Fire Engineers who are either chartered or working towards chartership. Previous expert witness or testifying experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as the business can support candidates seeking to progress towards this level.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across fire engineering, technical, quantum, delay and insurance disciplines.

  • Managing projects, programmes, budgets and technical deliverables.

  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Supporting the continued growth of the fire engineering service across the UK and EMEA.

  • Mentoring and supporting the professional development of junior team members.

  • A strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements.

  • Detailed knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and BS 7974.

  • Experience working across residential and commercial developments.

  • The ability to undertake site inspections and produce clear, technically robust reports.

  • Strong project management and client advisory skills.

  • Experience leading projects and supporting the development of other team members.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Previous forensic, expert witness or testifying experience would be advantageous.

  • An interest in developing further experience within the expert and construction disputes arena.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
