Our client, an employee centric boutique multi award winning progressive architectural practice is looking to appoint an energetic and forward thinking Head Of Interior Design to join their team in Dubai and take on a leadership role to help grow the business across the region.   

Project Details

Our client is seeking an experienced, visionary, and highly skilled Head of Interior Design to lead their Interior Design Unit within a multidisciplinary Architecture and Engineering firm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of interior design projects, ensuring design excellence, managing a team of designers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, functional, and sustainable design solutions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Interior Design Unit in alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of interior designers, FF&E specialists, and design support staff.
  • Promote a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Supervise and review conceptual, schematic, and detailed design stages of interior projects across residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use sectors.
  • Ensure all designs align with client objectives, budget constraints, local codes, and sustainability goals.
  • Maintain design excellence and innovation across all projects.
  • Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and design delivery.
  • Coordinate with architectural, engineering, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of interior and architectural elements.
  • Manage client relationships and represent the firm in high-level presentations and meetings.
  • Ensure the unit adheres to company standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Implement quality control processes and ensure continual improvement.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, bids, and client presentations.
  • Identify new market opportunities and help grow the interior design portfolio.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in interior design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven portfolio of high-quality, built interior projects.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, building codes, and construction methods.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization tools.
  • Highly motivated and driven, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build long-lasting client relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and make informed decisions under pressure.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
