Hong Kong – The Ideal Place for Australian Construction Professionals

After initial signs of growth in Q4 last year the Australian construction industry contracted again in January (Source: Wall Street Journal). With the recent economic downturn in Australia many of its construction professionals are leaving it’s golden shores in search of other career opportunities…many of them are choosing Hong Kong.

One of the attractions of Hong Kong is the social scene, which is excellent in Hong Kong with the Australian Association having over 800 members and regularly organising events such as; AFL grand final day, the summer ball and Christmas cocktails.

The second attraction is the fact Australia shares a great trade relationship with Hong Kong with some of its leading companies having a major presence here in a variety of different sectors such as; banking and finance, aviation and not least construction and architecture.
