Lighthouse Club Hong Kong Charity Run - 14 Nov 2017

Posted by Richard Poulter on Friday, October 13, 2017

This 4th November 2017, 5 runners each from 8 companies will congregate at the Stanley Ho Sports Institute's 400 m athletic track in Hong Kong to aid the Lighthouse Club Hong Kong Benevolent Fund

The aims of the Lighthouse Club worldwide are to promote good fellowship amongst its members who work in or are associated with the construction industry and to provide charitable assistance to those in need within the construction industry and to their dependents in qualifying cases.

Last year 25 runners from 5 companies ran more than 700 km and raised over HK$1M.  These runners (aka "The Lap Dogs") will be allowed to run at any pace they desire, for as long as they wish, with as many breaks as they wish. The aim is to run a maximum total number of laps in a 5 hour period from 7am - 12noon.

This won't be a "walk in the park."

We are hoping all 40 runners run over 2,400 laps and some of our individual Lap Dogs cover 40+ km in the allotted 5 hours. Our Lap Dogs are undergoing training and the event is being organized all in our own time.

I'll be running in the MTR / Lighthouse Club team, have a personal target of 80 laps (yikes!!) and would be honoured if you would pledge some sponsorship support!  The 5 runners of the MTR / Lighthouse Club team are looking to raise a combined total of HK$100,000 so please dig deep!!

All sponsorship exceeding HK$100 is tax deductible in HK.
