Project Details

This Project Coordinator job in Toronto involves supporting the delivery of residential development construction projects, including senior housing, student housing and other private residential developments located across Toronto and the wider Ontario region.

The role is based within a well-established construction consultancy providing construction project management and cost consulting services in the Toronto construction industry. The successful candidate will support project managers delivering residential development projects for a private developer who is expanding their property portfolio in Toronto.

Projects will be managed from early planning and procurement stages through construction and completion, offering the Project Coordinator valuable exposure to the full construction project lifecycle.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Project Coordinator will support the delivery of construction and residential development projects across Toronto by assisting project managers with project administration, documentation management and coordination of project information.

  • Support construction project managers delivering residential developments across Toronto and Ontario
  • Maintain and manage change order logs and construction documentation for active projects
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of project reports and project documentation
  • Support procurement and tendering processes, including preparation of tender documentation
  • Track project changes, variations and change orders throughout the construction lifecycle
  • Assist with contract administration and project management activities during construction
  • Maintain organised records of construction documentation and project files
  • Coordinate project communications between consultants, contractors and internal project teams
  • Monitor project progress and assist with reporting project updates to senior management
  • Support quality control and ensure project documentation standards are maintained
  • Attend project meetings and assist with preparing meeting minutes and action logs

Desired Skills and Experience

The employer is seeking a motivated Project Coordinator with early career experience in the Toronto construction industry who is interested in developing their career in construction project management.

  • Approximately 2–3 years of experience working in the construction industry is desirable
  • Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar role in construction
  • Experience managing change order logs and construction documentation
  • Understanding of construction project administration and project coordination processes
  • Experience supporting construction projects during procurement and construction phases
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple project tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with contractors, consultants and project teams
  • Experience working within the Toronto or Ontario construction market is desired
  • Experience working on residential or property development projects of a similar type is beneficial

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in construction management, project management, engineering or a related discipline is desired
  • Relevant construction industry training or certifications would be advantageous
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is essential
