Project Details

As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will have responsibility for your own projects, both pre and post contract.

The portfolio of projects this employer undertakes is varied including MOD work, office, retail, commercial, healthcare, commercial, data centres and others.  

They have a number of specialisms in relation to facades, BIM and also have extensive experience in relation to the cost management of tall buildings.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Preparing Cost Plans & Cost Estimates
  • Preparation of tender enquiry documents
  • Checking Bills of Quantity
  • Feasibility reports
  • Valuations
  • Cost/ Value reconciliations

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Quantity Surveying experience
  • Previous experience from a consultancy / client side environment
  • Contract Management experience
  • Experience with Cost Plans & Cost Estimates
  • Experience with the preparation of tender enquiry documents
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Collaborative approach and best-for-project attitude

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is advantageous.
  • MRICS is desired, although help towards achieving MRICS is available, as this employer offers a very strong and well-established APC programme.
  • Help with becoming MRICS is offered and can be seen as an attractive feature of this employer.
