New Project Quantity Surveyor job role with a premium concrete frame contractor to work on £5m nuclear facility based in Berkshire.

The successful candidate for this Project Quantity Surveyor role must hold a British passport, as SC Security clearance is required to work on this project.

This is an urgent requirement, so looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can start as soon as possible.

Project Details

The project is a £5m nuclear facility based in Aldermaston, Berkshire. The contract used will be NEC3. Works will involve concrete, excavation, drainage and barriers.

This is a site-based role in Aldermaston. Generally, most of the projects will be around London area.

The employer operates across a range of sectors- commercial, transport infrastructure, residential, retail and others.

The role is offered on a permanent PAYE basis and Project Quantity Surveyor is needed to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Quantity Surveyor duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Running own project with minimal supervision
  • Internal monthly reporting
  • Liaising with Subcontractors, Senior Surveyors and Commercial Directors to confirm all submitted payment certificates are approved within a timely manner.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • Processing high value subcontractor payments
  • Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour
  • Identifying and weighing up commercial risks

Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience
  • Capable of running own project with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of COINS desirable
  • Commercial Contract awareness
  • Good working knowledge and experience with the NEC form of contract is ideal
  • Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills to have an organised and methodical approach to work.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good organisation skills to be able to organise and prioritise your workload.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • IT skills in MS Excel and Word
  • Driving license and a car.
  • British passport to be able to apply for SC clearance.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • HNC/HND or a degree in Quantity Surveyor or similar construction disciple in preferred, but not essential
