A Quantity Surveyor is required to join a leading construction company that act as a Managing Contractor and PQS company on unique projects in the listed building, fire damaged, and university sectors. You will be a Quantity Surveyor working mainly post contract to start with on 2 projects of £3.5m and £4m in value, but ranging up to £10m in the future. You will be a Quantity Surveyor either managing each project commercially or assisting the Commercial Director on the projects, depending on your experience.

Project Details

The company specialises on projects in the listed building sector, the fire damanged insurance (hence refurbishment project) sector, as well as new build college projects on universities. Project values vary between £500k and £10million.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will undertake an exciting and varied Quantity Surveying role, starting in a role as a Post Contract Quantity Surveyor with scope to undergo PQS work in the future on various projects in the above sectors. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants experience as a Main Contractor Quantity Surveyor and a Consultancy Quantity Surveyor, as the company operate as a Managing Contractor and PQS outfit. Depending on your experience, you will either assist the Director on 2 current projects, or commercially run one or both of these projects.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the building sector is essential
  • Experience working for a Main Contractor or Consultancy organisation are both considered

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  •  Degree qualified is preferred
  •  MRICS or working towards is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. Full APC support is given for those motivated.
