Quantity Surveyor
A Quantity Surveyor is required to work for one of the UK's largest main contractors with an excellent reputation for delivering signature projects and working to market leading systems & procedures.
Project Details
The successful candidate will join an existing commercial team responsible for delivering a number of schools valued in excess of £100m in total over the next couple of years.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor. Typical duties will include:
- Procurement and management of sub-contractor accounts
- Site measurement and drawing take offs
- General Contract Administration
- Drafting contractual letters
- Preparing cost / value analysis
- Pricing variations and compensation events
- Keeping quality and accurate records
- Maintenance of cost information
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of working as part of a commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor for a reputable national / regional contractor is desired
- Previous experience on projects within the educational sector would be an advantage however not essential. Although similar building projects is strongly desired.
- Strong planning and organisational skills are essential to the role
- Strong commercial acumen is essential
- A strong work ethic with ambitions to progress your career with a leading employer in the construction industry would fit well with the company ethos
- Able to follow strict systems and procedures
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Candidates will be qualified or working towards a formal qualification in Quantity Surveying or other relevant subject
