Quantum Associate Director
A fantastic opportunity for a Quantum Associate Director to join an expanding specialist claims and disputes consultancy.
The successful applicant ideally will have ongoing quantum expert instructions, shall have an eagerness to develop their own contact database and a proven ability to support other quantum experts.
This is a remote position, and the Associate Director can be based anywhere in the UK.
Responsibilities and Duties
This Quantum Consultant job vacancy is with a specialist claims and disputes company that offers a range of specialist consultancy services to its clients who are experiencing problems in their projects and do not have the in-house expertise to resolve them favourably.
Often the work undertaken is for major large size luxury housing developer clients undertaking major mixed-use residential projects in prime locations across major UK cities including London.
Services provided can include:
- Forensic analysis of project accounts to identify and substantiate areas of dispute
- The preparation of written reports for use in dispute resolution processes, including mediation, adjudication and litigation
- Representation of parties or defence involvement in formal dispute resolution proceedings, including adjudication and mediation
- Commercial support on live projects, including oversight of client teams and provision of strategic commercial advice
- Training and development of junior staff
Desired Skills and Experience
- Circa 10+ years of experience with a background in Quantity Surveying, gained within either a client-side or main contractor environment
- Proven track record of delivering commercial support.
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract.
- Proficient in developing and managing procurement strategies and contract administration
- An understanding of construction law, with a particular focus on the assessment and quantification of damages
- Experience assisting/ supporting quantum experts
- Eagerness to develop own contact database
- Capable of managing multiple commissions concurrently, including overseeing and coordinating inputs from wider project teams
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree qualified
- Studying towards a higher qualification in construction law or similar equivalent could be advantageous but is not essential.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body is also advantageous but not necessary.
