An opportunity has arisen for a Quantum Consultant to be based in Singapore and work with leading quantum experts in a specialist construction disputes team.

The successful candidate is likely to support major building, infrastructure, energy, transportation and engineering disputes, helping clients progress complex claims and arbitration matters towards successful resolution.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Quantum Consultant within a specialist construction disputes team in Singapore, you will support senior experts and assist clients with the preparation, analysis and resolution of complex quantum-related disputes.

Duties are expected to include:

• Working with senior quantum experts and the wider Singapore team on arbitration and formal dispute resolution matters
• Supporting the preparation and assessment of construction claims, variations, final accounts and damages analysis
• Delivering contract administration and commercial management advice
• Assisting with the development of claims and disputes strategies aligned with client objectives
• Supporting Expert Witnesses with the preparation of detailed expert reports, rebuttal reports and joint statements
• Drafting clear, accurate and well-reasoned written submissions relating to cost, entitlement and quantum matters
• Reviewing project records, contracts, contemporaneous documents and commercial data to identify key issues
• Assisting with the preparation of robust evidence for use in arbitration, litigation, adjudication or other dispute resolution forums
• Contributing to dispute avoidance, construction claims jobs and construction dispute resolution jobs across Singapore and the wider Asia region

Desired Skills and Experience

The employer is seeking a commercially minded construction professional with strong analytical ability and experience relevant to quantum, claims and dispute work. Suitable candidates are likely to demonstrate the following:

• Around 3 or more years of experience in the construction industry in Quantity Surveying, commercial management or professional quantity surveying roles
• Experience in contract administration, claims preparation, claims assessment and commercial analysis
• Previous local experience in Singapore is preferred
• Good understanding of the technical, commercial and contractual challenges facing the construction industry
• Strong written English and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with large volumes of data and documentary evidence in a structured manner
• Experience using relevant software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other common planning or commercial tools including MS Project, Primavera P3 or P6, Suretrak or similar
• Prior exposure to arbitration, expert witness support or formal dispute resolution proceedings would be advantageous
