Exciting new opportunity for anyone seeking an architect job in Hong Kong. Our client, a major consultancy, is looking to appoint an experienced Architect who’d take on the role of the Associate Director. It is a perfect opportunity for a Hong Kong qualified HKIA member and Authorised Person to work on exciting new projects for an international consultancy.

Project Details

You will be working in the client’s HQ leading the architectural team and discharging Authorised Person duties on selected projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead an Architectural team effectively and proactively under the guidance of the Director and coordinate with other consultants/engineering disciplines or be a part of that team sharing that responsibility.
  • Responsible for the production drawings and specifications (presentation and working drawings). Coordination of concept design, schematic design, detail design, tender and construction documents.
  • Discharge Authorized Person (AP) duties on selected projects
  • Report to the Director on a regular basis regarding drawing design development issues, design queries, and design coordination issues.
  • Collaborate for excellence in design quality and documentation, and match or better client's QA standards.
  • To conduct yourself professionally at all times.
  • Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of your drawing work, quality, layout, and notes by checking oneself and your teams, before review by the Director, as well as the coordination of drawings amongst the team and other disciplines.
  • To alert the Directors when elements of the design or details are not working and offer solutions to these.
  • Be responsible for contract documentation, statutory submission document production and submission, and Government discussions leading to approval.
  • To show commitment to raising client's design standards.
  • To keep abreast of the latest software enhancements to increase productivity and to share this knowledge with one’s colleagues.
  • To actively strive to improve your skills in design by looking for opportunities to further prove yourself whenever you see such opportunities arise. Always discuss and agree any such initiatives with the Director before proceeding.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • More than 8 years post graduate experience
  • Working knowledge of codes and regulations, with minimum 5 years working experience of statutory submissions in HK.
  • Knowledge of the following software: AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit (adventitious), as well as MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Minimum B.Arch, M.Arch, B.Sc in Architecture, Diploma in Architecture (min 5 to 6 years of university study)
  • HKIA member & Authorised Person (List of Architects) are essential
