Senior Cost Consultant
A new Senior Cost Consultant job vacancy with a premium small cost consultancy in Victoria, British Columbia.
The role will involve preparing estimates and providing cost consultancy services on a range of projects. This is a hybrid role, with an opportunity to work from home a few days a week.

Project Details
Senior Cost Consultant will be preparing construction cost estimates at various design and construction stages for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects.
The ideal Quantity Surveyor / Senior Cost Consultant candidate will be PQS / MRICS qualified.
This is a hybrid role, with an opportunity to work from home for 2 to 3 days. At the beginning of the job, there may be a requirement to work in the office more often to get familiar with procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Take responsibility for pre contract project work
Preparing cost estimates from feasibility through to pre-tender stages - Developing unit cost rates from first principles
- Preparing and issuing reports to clients to support cost estimates
- Liaison and correspondence with client and design teams
- Liaison with supply chain to gather cost information to evidence and support estimates
- Assist in preparation in change order review analysis
- Preparation of life cycle cost estimates
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Consultant, Estimator, with a focus on pre contract work and experience
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 ; Blueline is an asset
- Superior communication and English proficiency skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely.

- Strong understanding of construction estimates and the construction industry
- Experience and capability in carrying out cost and commercial duties

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A professional cost or estimating qualification is desirable, such as a Quantity Surveying, cost estimating, or Estimating degree, or a Technical Diploma.
- Professional membership of the RICS, CIQS, PQS or a similar equivalent professional body is preferred.
