A Senior Cost Engineer is required to join an international consultancy in their Gloucester office, to work on major Nuclear construction projects.

Project Details

You will be a Senior Cost Engineer working on major nuclear projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Establish and maintain Project Cost Controls policies and processes.
• Assist with the execution of estimates, plus the delivery to the clients.
• Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
• Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner
• Prepares and issues periodic cost reports to senior staff.
• Reviews and prepare cash flow and issues to senior staff.
• Reviews all applications & invoices for the project and forwards them to the client's accounts payable department.
• Review payment requisitions, assess percentage of work complete with the project team and make recommendations.
• Attends cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the contractors and engineering teams.
• Attend project, cost and other meetings as required.
• Provides cost information on value engineering analysis.
• Develop Cost Models, Estimating Relationships, schedules and risks analysis for programmes and projects in support of customers
• Support standardisation and update of estimates.
• Conduct cost and price analysis of competitive and non-competitive bids for supplies and services offered
• Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice

Desired Skills and Experience

• Must have experience of working on large scale EPC Projects
• Cost estimation and cost reporting and management.
• Deployment and administration of Cost Management and Cost Reporting systems
• Earn Value Measurement
• Change & Cost control processes
• Production of regular cost reports at contract, area and programme level
• Assist in cost estimate production, procurement and tender assessments

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, construction management or similar discipline
- Member of relevant professional body is preferred however not essential
