Senior Project Manager

One of a number of blue chip client side project management jobs we are recruiting for, this is a fabulous opportunity for a high calibre Senior Project Manager preferably with airports design, development and delivery experience to join a major design and engineering client in Hong Kong and play a pivotal in the delivery of a landmark airport project located in Vietnam.

Project Details

As a Senior Project Manager based in our client's Hong Kong office, you will join a startup environment within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers and architects.

You will be responsible for the management of the Vietnam project in whole which includes Project Management Plans and their implementation, Monitoring and Reporting, Project Level Management Services and Support, Project Critical Issues tracking and resolution.

Projects to be assigned will be in the context of project management consulting, engineering design, construction primarily related to airport planning and development but also to expect non-airport related projects 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead and oversee comprehensive airport design and construction projects from inception to completion
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders
• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
• Ensure adherence to local regulations, international standards, and client requirements
• Manage risk mitigation strategies and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintain high-quality standards and supervise technical design reviews
• Communicate effectively with clients, authorities, and project teams
• Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and present updates to stakeholders
• Lead negotiations, procurement, and contract management
• Promote safety, sustainability, and innovative solutions in project delivery

Desired Skills and Experience

• 10 years’ experience minimum on managing multidisciplinary engineering / consulting / construction projects, with a minimum of 3 years serving as the client facing project lead
• Expertise in airport planning, design, engineering, and construction processes.
• Familiarity with Vietnamese regulations and international standards ICAO, IATA, ASTM would be a great bonus!
• Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of engineering design, construction planning, facility operation, project budgeting and scheduling
• Demonstrated knowledge of capital planning and assessment, cost-benefit analysis, planning and evaluation, and risk management protocols
• Experienced in Project Management and Contract Management
• Excellent presentation, coordination and leadership skills
• Conversant with laws and regulations, international codes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and capable to exercise independent judgement
• Capable to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
• Eager to learn with strong interest for the airport industry
• Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products like Oracle or MS Project
• Proficient in English reading, written and spoken; ability in another language is a plus. Vietnamese would be a great bonus!
• Frequent travel to be expected

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in airport management, planning and or aviation science related fields, or in build-environment related disciplines such as project construction management, architectural, engineering, quantity surveying
