A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join the central London office of an international property and infrastructure consultancy. You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor responsible for housing projects in a client facing role, working out of a central London office. This major consultancy will allow you to broaden your sector experience; providing great exposure to various project sectors should you have the desire to work in those sectors.

Project Details

You will initially be working on projects in the residential sector.

Responsibilities and Duties

  •  Estimating and cost planning
  •  Production of feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information, through to detailed cost plans
  •  Preparation of tender documentation packages
  •  Measurement of BQ’s 
  •  Completion of contract documents
  •  Post contract works
  •  Negotiation to final accounts
  •  Interfacing with the client and other consultants
  •  Required to monitor the costs of projects and their progress in relation to the programme
  •  Negotiations with contractors to establish budgets 
  •  Full contractual advice pre and post contract to other design team members and clients
  •  Settlement of final account packages including negotiation of claims
  •  Implementation and provision of high quality consultancy advice and estate solutions. 
  •  Manage and contribute to CP&I team ethos to ensure expertise, knowledge and new services are promoted to all CP&I clients
  •  Arrange and participate in client meetings, conferences and other project team activities.
  •  Attend training to develop and build on knowledge and professional skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

  •  Experience working on housing projects in beneficial, alternatively other building project experience is also sought after
  •  Ability to successfully manage projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  •  Strong cost planning experience
  •  Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
  •  Client facing experience is beneficial

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline is desired
  • RICS or membership of other relevant professional body is desired, or on course to complete
