Due to continued growth a Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to work for a reputable London based main contractor on a £175m mixed-use development in Central London. This position will suit an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor keen to progress their career and skills with a turnkey Residential Main Contractor, who build bespoke, £50M+ Residential projects for private clients in London.

Project Details

You will have the opportunity to work on exciting, complex and high end projects in the residential sector within London. Projects will often be valued in excess of £50m+. The company are currently looking for a QS to join them on a flagship £175m mixed use development in Central London.

Responsibilities and Duties

• providing commercial support to Design and Contract Staff;
• preparing valuations for interim application for payment including variations;
• preparing, negotiating and agreeing final accounts and contra charges;
• preparing sub-contract enquiries and order documentation;
• re-measurement of Bills of Quantities;
• preparing cost budgets and prices for contract variations;
• preparing subcontract valuation and payment certificates;
• monitoring costs to ensure budgets are met;
• preparation of contract claims information;
• evaluating/selecting subcontract tenders;
• checking material sizes and quantities for procurement;
• setting up and maintaining contract files

Desired Skills and Experience

- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a reputable main or subcontractor
- Ability to manage and effectively monitor sub-contractors
- Previous project experience on large scale projects in the built environment.
- Good understanding of managing day-to-day contractual correspondence with the client and sub-contractors
- Have excellent communication – both oral and written, numeric and computer skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

- Candidates must be educated to HND level or higher. Or hold a similar equivalent qualification

Negotiable basic salary (Based on quality and relevance of experience)

Guide Salary = £55k – 75k
