Senior Quantity Surveyor
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join a construction company operating in a unique Construction Management role on behalf of a leading retail client to manage the delivery of a £60m Distribution Centre in Kent.

The project is the construction of a £60m Distribution Centre based on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. The project consists of a large warehouse with significant temperature controlled storage space as well as a 2 storey 30,000 sq m office building. The project is expected to take 24 months to be completed.

Responsibilities and Duties
As Senior Quantity Surveyor on this project, you will be the lead commercial contact on the project and report to an office based Commercial Manager. You will have a small commercial team you will be expected to manage on the project.
- Procurement of sub-contractors
- Assessment of tenders
- Updating the client on progress
- Management of contractors throughout delivery
- Dealing with contractual issues
Desired Skills and Experience
- Candidates will have worked for a similar company doing a PM/ CM role on projects on behalf of the client, or a main contracting background
- Previous experience of working on projects in the retail sector is desired
- Candidates with previous experience of working on projects in excess of £10m are preferred
- Some exposure to M&E related aspects of projects would be an advantage
- Candidates will need strong client facing skills
- Candidates will need excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent organisational and planning skills required
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Candidates are desired to have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or other similar equivalent qualification.

The hiring company is performs a unique role in the UK on behalf of a major UK retailer. They act in a Construction Management role on behalf of the client to procure and manage sub-contractors throughout the construction of new stores, corporate buildings and distribution centres.
They will consider hiring candidates on a perm salary & benefits basis or via the candidates own Ltd company on a daily rate.
Additional Benefits Package and Incentives
£60K - £90k Basic (Depending on whether PAYE employee or through own Ltd company)
