A Quantity Surveyor is required to join one of the UK's largest main contractors on a £35m high end residential project based at London Kings Cross, Central London. The successful candidate will work as second in command to the Project Commercial Manager on this project. You will work closely with your senior and stand in for him when required.

Project Details

The project is a £35m residential development situated at London Kings Cross in Central London. The hiring company are responsible for delivering the projects shell and core. This is a great opportunity to work for a leading main contractor on a good sized project, in a position of responsibility.

Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will report to the Project Commercial Manager on the project and have work as second in command for the commercial team on this development.

Specific Duties will include:

  •  Cost and Value Reconciliations
  •  Management of sub-contractors
  •  Dealing with contractual issues
  •  Managing reports
  •  Standing in for the Commercial Manager where required
  •  Managing and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Will have a solid grounding as a Quantity Surveyor working for a reputable main contractor
  • Must have experience of dealing with contractual issues on a project. Ideally you will have the knowledge and experience to deal with basic contractual issues without supervision.
  • Previous experience of working as a package Quantity Surveyor on a larger development is advantageous
  • Candidates must have previous experience of following strict systems and procedures with their previous employer(s)
  • Candidates with a stable career history are desired

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  •  A degree or similar equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or other relevant subject is desired.
  •  Candidates working towards or enrolled to work towards professional memberships such as the RICS or CIOB would be an advantage. (Full support will be given to achieving professional memberships by the employer)
