A Senior Claims Consultant is required to work for one of the World's most well regarded Claims and Disputes Consultancy, based out of their Oman office.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced construction professional who has qualified in a claims related subject and has several years experience of working on claims and disputes related duties in the previous role(s). You will have the opportunity to join a market leading employer in this sector, live and work in beautiful Oman and have the opportunity to work on an exciting range of International projects.

Project Details

This is a fantastic role for candidates who enjoy the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects. Clients you will work with will mainly include main contractors and major developers / end users in the Oman market.

The hiring company is most developed in the Infrastructure sector in Oman, therefore you may find a bias towards working on claims relating to Airports, general infrastructure including roads & highways, as well as industrial projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  •  Providing detailed claims reviews and analysis on behalf of the clients;
  •  Compiling & submitting Extensions of Time (EOT) claims (including Quantum) on both large and small scale projects
  •  Providing contractual advisory services
  •  Providing assistance with gathering of evidence for the purpose of claims analysis, submittals and rebuttals;
  •  Providing claims submission and rebuttal letters and general contractual correspondence letters;
  •  Producing and submitting reports as necessary;
  •  Attending meetings with the client 's as required
  •  Providing support to the client's in presenting the client's position with respect to claims to third parties as required
  •  Drafting good quality contractual narrative's
  •  Understanding of delay analysis techniques
  •  Provide assistance with business development

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous Middle Eastern experience is essential. Particularly previous experience in Oman
  • Excellent knowledge of FIDIC for of contract. Additional experience / knowledge in Oman Standard Form of Contract would be advantageous
  • Must have strong managerial skills
  • Must have previous experience of working on major International projects
  • Candidates should be highly professional in their approach to work
  • Personable and with an ability to network and generate new business for the company

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Qualified to Degree level (or similar equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Quantity Surveying
  • Candidates will ideally hold professional membership to a relevant body such as RICS, ICES, CIArb, CIOB etc
  • Completed an MSc / LLM in Construction Law is strongly desired. Experienced Commercial Managers with a considerable claims experience but without this qualification may be considered
