Sustainability Consultant job vacancy to work for niche consultancy in Hong Kong offering the full spectrum of sustainability advice from high level strategy, master planning through to design and implementation

Project Details

Our client is a boutique sustainable design consultancy based in Hong Kong that provides a full range of services in support of passive and low energy design for the built environment. Starting from a blank piece of paper or from preliminary architectural conceptual sketches, they adopt a holistic approach by analysing the site-specific primary potentials and constraints. They explore opportunities to mitigate undesirable impacts or harness natural resources to steer developments towards carbon neutrality. Their expertise in building physics, daylighting, airflow, renewable energy technologies, coupled with their state of the art computational fluid dynamics, dynamic thermal modelling, solar geometry and daylighting simulation tools, enable them to provide innovative, practical and economic solutions. They design from first principles and create living machines that pave the way forward to achieve zero climate change.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Reporting directly to the director, take lead on project management and delivery
• Lead the team to conduct the following analyses: - BEAM Plus, LEED, WELL and BREEAM projects;
• Daylighting and Solar Overshadowing Analysis;
• Microclimate and sustainable master planning;
• Site-wide integration of renewable energy strategies;
• Low energy and green building strategies;
• Computational Fluid Dynamics;
• Dynamic Thermal Simulation;
• Thermal Comfort Assessment;
• Energy and Carbon Benchmarking and Emissions

Desired Skills and Experience

The most suitable Sustainability Consultant job candidates will have:

• Minimum 3 years for the position of sustainability consultant and 5 years for the position of senior sustainability consultant in architectural environmental design in building services and energy related, BEAM Plus, LEED and WELL projects.
• A good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua
• Self-motivated and hardworking with good project management skills
• Passion and Integrity
• Looking for people with passion, and not those with an impressive transcript only. Looking for young talent who have a long-term vision.
• Client has a proven track record of reformatting and transforming engineering and non-engineering graduates to solid consultants. If you have the right mindset, they can provide the mentoring.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Degree in Built Environment / Architectural Environmental Engineering / Renewable Energy and Architecture / Building Services and Energy Engineering.
• PhD and Master degrees are an advantage but not a must.
