About Graduate Quantity Surveyors

A job as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor is the start of a rewarding career in the construction industry. Graduate Quantity Surveyors can be employed by an end user or a cost consultancy to minimize cost and spending or by a main contractor or specialist subcontractor to maximize the profit margin on work already won. Typically a Graduate QS or Junior QS will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.

Graduate Quantity Surveying vacancies can be in a range of construction sectors including building, civil engineering, M&E and the property market.

The career path of a Quantity Surveyor begins as a graduate or trainee, and progresses to a management role on site or at head office running the cost and contracts function.

Quantity Surveying professionals are in great demand with jobs available to work on projects in London, across the South East of England, Middle East locations such as Dubai and across the UAE as well as in Hong Kong.
