Procurement Consultant
An excellent opportunity for a Procurement Consultant to join a global, multidisciplinary consultancy based in Leeds (hybrid-working).
The successful Procurement Consultant will join an expanding Contract Services team, delivering best-in-class procurement and contract advisory services to blue-chip clients. You will lead and support full end-to-end procurement solutions, with a particular focus on central and local government, defence, infrastructure (including roads and rail), power, utilities, renewables, nuclear, mining and minerals, and pharmaceuticals.
This role sits within the firm’s growing Contract Services division and offers the opportunity to shape strategic procurement approaches, improve commercial outcomes and support complex, high-profile programmes. Hybrid working is available, subject to client and project requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties
Key responsibilities for this Procurement Consultant role include:
- Providing specialist procurement strategy advice to public and private sector clients
- Managing and delivering end-to-end procurement services, including strategy development, tender documentation, evaluation and contract award
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of the consultancy’s procurement service offering
- Contributing to the delivery of team and wider business targets and performance indicators
- Supporting bid preparation, proposal documentation and wider business development activities
- Advising on and supporting the use of appropriate procurement routes and procedures (including those governed by Public and Utilities Contract Regulations or equivalent)
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across contract services, commercial, claims and disputes teams to provide integrated solutions to clients
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal Procurement Consultant candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong background across the full procurement lifecycle, including strategy development, tender preparation, evaluation and contract award
- Experience of providing specialist procurement strategy advice to both public and private sector clients
- Excellent working knowledge of major forms of contract such as NEC and/or JCT
- Experience working within or alongside regulated environments, with cross-sector exposure to Public and/or Utilities Contract Regulations or equivalent
- Supply chain intelligence and supplier market awareness across relevant sectors (e.g. defence, utilities, infrastructure, renewables, nuclear, pharmaceuticals)
- Experience of contract management, performance monitoring and supplier relationship management
- Knowledge of commercial modelling and options appraisal
- Experience of contract drafting, including terms and conditions, negotiation and award
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and report-writing skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, often on client-facing assignments
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A degree (BSc or equivalent) in quantity surveying, civil engineering, law, procurement, or another construction / infrastructure / commercial discipline
- Ideally CIPS qualified (or working towards CIPS or an equivalent professional procurement qualification)
