A Project Manager is required to lead the operation of a new modular construction factory in Barbados, established by a major regional property developer. The successful candidate will manage planning, logistics, and quality processes to support rapid and efficient housing delivery, targeting production of one home per day.

Project Details

  • The employer is a developer in the Caribbean that is investing in modern modular construction to increase housing output across the region. The new Barbados-based factory will produce prefabricated housing units to support social housing residential projects. The Project Manager will ensure smooth operations and the on-time delivery of materials needed for continuous production.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing overall production planning and logistics for the modular construction factory
  • Ensuring materials and components arrive on time to maintain efficient manufacturing schedules
  • Overseeing quality control procedures and ensuring output meets design and performance standards
  • Liaising between design, procurement, and on-site construction teams to ensure alignment
  • Monitoring production efficiency and identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • Managing factory personnel and subcontractors to maintain a safe and productive environment
  • Reporting progress to senior management and contributing to the strategic development of modular construction operations

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in project management within modular, off-site, or factory-based construction environments
  • Excellent organisational and logistics management skills
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality housing or building projects to tight schedules
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate across departments
  • Good communication skills and familiarity with construction scheduling and reporting tools
  • Experience of working internationally or within the Caribbean construction market would be very advantageous

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) preferred
  • Membership of a professional body such as CIOB or RICS desirable
