Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity available with an established SME construction consultancy. Your projects will include both new build and refurbishment leisure centres and housing, valued between £15–30m. Based from a central London office with projects around Slough, Maidenhead, Hillingdon, and the wider M25 area. Salary £50–65k + mileage + benefits.
This is a great job for a London Quantity Surveyor with at least 3+ years post-graduation experience, whether already senior or an ambitious intermediate Quantity Surveyor looking to step up. This multi-disciplinary construction consultancy prides itself on a collaborative and supportive culture, encouraging progression towards RICS chartership if not already achieved.

Project Details

  • Mix of new build and refurbishment/repurposing projects
  • Housing – For councils, housing associations, private housing
  • Project values: £15m – £30m typically, up to £65m
  • Working across multiple live projects (6–8 concurrently)
  • Locations: Office based in central London, with projects in Slough, Maidenhead, Hillingdon, M25 area

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying duties
  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and cashflow forecasts
  • Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation
  • Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Cost reporting and financial control on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advising clients on contractual and commercial matters
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff where appropriate

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience post-graduation in a Quantity Surveying role is preferable
  • Experience working on new build and refurbishment projects
  • Able to manage several projects simultaneously (6–8 at any one time)
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen with excellent reporting skills
  • Good client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on SME environment

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
  • MRICS qualified or working towards professional membership (support available)
