The successful candidate will work on complex UK and international construction disputes, undertaking detailed quantum analysis and supporting senior Quantum Experts on adjudication, arbitration and litigation matters.

The successful candidate will join an established construction disputes team and work on complex, high-value UK and international assignments.
This role would suit an experienced Senior Quantum Consultant or existing Associate Director with strong construction disputes and quantum analysis experience who is looking to progress their career within a specialist disputes environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Quantum Experts and senior members of the disputes team, undertaking detailed assessment of construction claims, loss and expense, variations and damages, and assisting with the preparation of reports for adjudication, arbitration, litigation and other dispute resolution proceedings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented quantum professional looking to develop towards Director and potentially Expert Witness level.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful Associate Director Quantum candidate will be required to:

Undertake detailed quantum analysis on complex construction and engineering disputes.

Assess variations, loss and expense, prolongation, disruption and other heads of claim.

Analyse project costs, valuations, payment records, accounts and contemporaneous project documentation.

Prepare detailed assessments of financial entitlement and quantum.

Review and assess contractor and subcontractor claims.

Assist with the preparation and defence of final account and damages claims.

Prepare clear and robust quantum reports.

Assist senior Quantum Experts with the preparation of Expert Witness reports.

Support disputes being dealt with through adjudication, arbitration, litigation and mediation.

Manage individual workstreams and substantial elements of larger dispute assignments.

Review and supervise the work of junior quantum consultants and analysts.

Liaise with clients, solicitors, contractors, consultants and other relevant parties.

Assist with proposals, client presentations and business development activities.

Contribute to the continued growth of the construction disputes team.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful Associate Director Quantum candidate will ideally have:

Significant experience in quantity surveying, quantum analysis and/or construction claims and disputes.

Strong practical experience assessing complex construction claims and quantum matters.

Previous experience working for a construction claims or disputes consultancy would be highly advantageous.

A strong understanding of construction contracts, valuation principles, loss and expense, variations and damages.

Experience assessing prolongation, disruption and other construction-related financial claims.

Experience working on matters involving adjudication, arbitration and/or litigation.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to review large quantities of project and commercial information.

Excellent technical report-writing skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good client-facing skills.

Experience managing or mentoring junior members of staff.

A commercial outlook and an interest in developing client relationships.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements

A degree in Quantity Surveying or another construction-related discipline is preferred.

A relevant postgraduate qualification in Construction Law, Dispute Resolution or a related subject would be advantageous.

Membership of, or progress towards membership of, a relevant professional institution such as RICS, CIOB or CIArb would be desirable.
