Applications are welcomed from both UAE-based candidates and those looking to relocate from the UK.

Project Details

Due to the reputation of key individuals within this business, the employer provides independent expert witness services on some of the world’s largest and most high-profile construction disputes.

This includes adjudications and major international arbitrations, often connected to landmark infrastructure and mega-projects across the Middle East (including aviation, transport and major real estate developments).

Responsibilities and Duties

In this Senior Consultant - Delay Analysis role, your primary function will be to provide high-level analytical support to a recognised delay expert on one or more disputes, commonly linked to arbitration and/or litigation proceedings.

As a Senior Consultant, you will be expected to take greater ownership of your workstreams and contribute proactively to the overall dispute strategy, including:

  • Delivering forensic planning and delay analysis support on live disputes
  • Reviewing project records, correspondence and programmes to identify delay drivers and critical issues
  • Preparing robust delay analyses
  • Taking ownership of defined sections of expert reports, including analysis and drafting
  • Assisting with preparation of expert reports and supporting appendices to a high standard suitable for arbitration/litigation
  • Supporting meetings with solicitors, counsel and project stakeholders, and helping to shape key lines of enquiry
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members on analysis, document review and report presentation (where applicable)
  • Contributing to clear, well-presented outputs suitable for formal dispute forums

Desired Skills and Experience

This job will suit a candidate looking to build a long-term career in construction dispute resolution and expert witness services in Dubai and the Middle East.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Typically 5+ years’ experience with an engineering background (site and/or project controls exposure helpful)
  • Good working knowledge of delay analysis, with exposure to construction disputes (arbitration/litigation experience advantageous)
  • Strong planning software capability (Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject)
  • Previous site-based experience and strong understanding of design, engineering and project delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence drafting professional written work and formal report content
  • A highly analytical mindset with the ability to scrutinise complex documentation and delay events
  • A clear interest in construction disputes, expert witness work and forensic delay analysis
  • Ideally experience in the UAE (helpful but not essential), or demonstrable experience on major international projects

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Essential: Relevant construction / engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • Desirable: Further study or professional memberships (e.g. MSc or LLM in Construction Law), though not essential and can be supported in the future
