Senior Consultant - Quantum
An expanding consultancy is seeking to appoint a highly capable Senior Consultant – Quantum to join its expert witness division in Birmingham.
The successful candidate must have experience supporting quantum expert commissions and will ideally have worked as an assistant to a lead Quantum expert on complex disputes.
You will work for a highly reputable consultancy consisting of quantum experts recognised by Who’s Who Legal (WWL).
Project Details
The Senior Consultant – Quantum will play an important role in supporting and contributing to quantum expert commissions for the Forensic Expert Witness team. This will involve assisting with the development of solutions, preparing analysis, contributing to internal and external presentations, and supporting the efficient delivery of high-quality expert work.
The Senior Consultant may also support contentious and non-contentious commissions, either independently on smaller matters or as part of a wider team on larger disputes, ensuring effective delivery and strong technical output.
Deliverables typically relate to formal dispute resolution processes such as litigation, arbitration, and adjudication. In addition, the Senior Consultant will support the provision of strategic advice on ongoing projects, settlement negotiations, and mediations, both in the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support the consultancy in dispute resolution proceedings
- Assist the lead Quantum expert on large disputes and support delivery on smaller commissions
- Prepare quantum analysis and assist with expert reports
- Review and analyse contractual, financial and project documentation
- Support the preparation of claims, counterclaims and dispute-related submissions
- Business Development and promoting the consultancy’s brand and services to potential clients and employees and championing the organisation’s values and objectives.
- Assist with team administration
- Support staff development and knowledge sharing within the team
Desired Skills and Experience
- Highly competent in preparing detailed quantum analysis and contributing to expert reports
- Experience supporting an expert witness on multiple occasions, ideally in a No.2 or assistant capacity
- Experience across different markets, types of construction and engineering projects and claims
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong ability to develop and maintain a network of client relationships
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree qualified
- Ideally Chartered in a relevant institution, or working towards Chartership
