Our client, a fast-growing  international transportation business, is looking to appoint an aspiring and suitably qualified Chief Civils Construction Manager to deliver a major rail and infrastructure project in Hong Kong.

Project Details

You’ll be based on the project site in Central area, Hong Kong Island. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will:

  • Deliver designated works contracts safely, on time, within budget, with quality and in compliance with all statutory requirements and specifications.
  • Lead a team of Engineers and Inspectors to supervise and manage assigned works contracts in all aspects including the use of appropriate construction methods and all related safety, quality, programming, environmental, land and commercial purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with various statutory and permit requirements under different ordinances and regulations for responsible works contracts e.g. Building Ordinance, Environmental Permit.
  • Coordinate the interfaces with various disciplines, such as Building Services, Railway Systems, Architectural Builders Works and Finishes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders e.g. relevant Government Departments, community stakeholders, professional institutions, District Council and exercise appropriate control to meet respective milestones and mitigate any risks and potential problems associated with the assigned contracts
  • Provide assistance in public engagement, consultation activities and resolution of public enquiries/complaints in relation to responsible works contracts.
  • Adopt New Engineering Contract (NEC), Building Information Modelling (BIM), electronic communication system and/or other smart technologies as appropriate to facilitate site supervision and contract management of responsible works contracts.

Desired Skills and Experience

  •  At least 15 years’ experience in project management and construction management, of which at least 8 years should be at managerial level.
  • A seasoned individual with exceptional communications skills both up and down the line
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
     

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering Engineering or a related discipline
  • A Chartered Civil Engineer or a Corporate Member of a relevant professional institution.
