Responsibilities and Duties

This Clerk of Works job in South London will require travel across multiple project locations to ensure construction quality and compliance standards are consistently met.

• Carry out site inspections across South London, Surrey, and Kent
• Monitor workmanship and materials on residential construction projects
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and UK building regulations
• Identify defects, snags, and quality issues and ensure they are addressed
• Produce accurate and detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives
• Attend site and progress meetings as required
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance across all assigned sites

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful Clerk of Works will have a strong background in construction and experience in inspecting residential developments.

• Previous experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, or Site Manager
• Good understanding of residential construction methods and standards
• Experience working across South London, Surrey, or Kent construction projects is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and report-writing ability
• Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• ICWCI qualification (MICWCI / LICWCI) highly desirable
• CIOB, RICS, CABE or similar professional membership considered
• Construction-related qualification preferred
