An exciting Estimator position for a reputable and expanding construction company based in Langley, British Columbia.
Estimator role will be to manage estimates on industrial, commercial, and residential projects.

Project Details
Estimator will be responsible for managing estimates on new projects while working closely with other team members, consultants, and trades to provide high-quality take-offs and estimates.
You will be preparing estimates for industrial, commercial, and multi-family residential projects and tenant improvements.
You will be working closely with Pre-Construction and Development Departments in a great team environment.
The working schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Generate comprehensive project estimates based on conceptual drawings and minimal information.
- Review estimates with project stake holders
- Attend pre-tender site visits as required.
- Review drawings and specifications for completeness.
- Prepare tender documents for projects.
- Identify and propose project risk and cost mitigation as well as the potential for project opportunities and cost savings.
- Provide clear, detailed quantity take-offs.
- Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner
- Complete Budgeting and Scheduling for projects.
- Organize sub-contractors’ quotations, ensure quotes meet contract documents and scope of work, filling in any gaps that may exist.
- Maintain and expand sub-trade relationships and ensure trade list is updated regularly.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an estimator or estimating-related experience building/developing construction management
- Previous experience estimating projects into the $ 40 million range.
- A proven ability to comprehend tender documents, specifications, and drawings, with an understanding of contractual requirements.
- Detailed understanding of all construction scopes of work.
- General construction knowledge: understanding of specifications, materials, and methods and procedures gained through site visits or on-site experience.
- Knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity takeoff procedures, trade contractor procurement, interdepartmental functions, pricing, and bid-closing procedures.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong spreadsheet and database skills.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Post-secondary education with college diploma or degree related to Construction Management, Quantity Surveying and/or estimating.
