Project Details

You will be stationed in Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia and provide critical management, drive and oversight to multiple development projects currently underway or under planning stage across the country.

Responsibilities and Duties

The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to help plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

This includes helping to acquire resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors in order to deliver projects according to plan.

The Assistant Project Manager will also help to define the project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with structuring, budgeting and scheduling for ongoing projects
Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and amendments to contracts with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors
Monitor and ensure sub-contractors’ works are carried out within the scope of works stated by the contract
Prepare, monitor and update the project construction schedule for purchasing and managing different bid packages
Assist in tender bidding process, monitor and record all tender documents
Find subcontractors, suppliers and procure necessary materials for ongoing projects
Manage material and shipment logistics and prepare and execute through customs clearance process
Coordinate with subcontractors and on site construction team on construction process and monitor completed works and progress payments
Prepare and record weekly/monthly construction progress reports and update clients, internal teams and executive team upon request.
Monitor compliance with building and safety codes, quality control and other regulations
Liaise with internal teams and domestic and foreign customers to ensure that successful solutions is identified and delivered
Liaise with consultants, contractors and suppliers on design, technical and site challenge issues
Coordinate with internal project team to assist clients with providing, revising changes on drawings, layouts and assist with material selection

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 years of Construction/Project Management experience
Proven experience in management
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
Excellent time management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
Superior analytical skills and problem solving skills
Ability to proactively obtain information from relevant sources
Proficient in both written and spoken English

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration /MBA preferred
