Associate Quantum Director
We are seeking an Associate Director in Quantum to work for a market leading claims and expert witness company in Toronto. You should be an experienced Quantum professional with experience supporting Quantum Experts in a “number 2” role, writing expert reports and managing more junior consultants.
Project Details
Projects are of large value, with complex construction claims and disputes involved.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Research and analyze project documents, construction cost data and accounts to identify and quantify claims for additional costs and damages
• Perform detailed cost analyses related to prolongation, disruption, acceleration, delay mitigation, lost productivity, overheads, and loss of profit
• Prepare high quality and substantiated construction claim reports and expert witness reports
• Review and analyze claims submitted by opposing experts or consultants
• Implement or assist with corrective action plans related to the “recovery” of large capital projects
• Recruit, train, and mentor professionals who specialize in construction industry consulting and related litigation support
• Engage in business development activities
Desired Skills and Experience
• Previous experience of working in the Expert Witness sector in a “number 2” role to a Quantum Expert
• High level of quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills
• High level of proficiency with Excel, report writing and presentation using charts/graphics
• Understanding of Critical Path Method delay analysis, and experience with scheduling software (e.g. Primavera)
• Exhibits a strong executive presence and have a high level of interpersonal and presentation skills
• Proactive individual with strong drive, ambition, and enthusiasm
• Able to delegate and supervise the work of others
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be resourceful
• Ability to work well under pressure

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting or Quantity Surveying
• One or more of the following certifications: licensed professional engineer (PE), certified public accountant (CPA), or professional/chartered quantity surveyor (PQS) or (RICS)
