Chief Resident Engineer (Elevated Trackway) Job in Malaysia:
A seasoned Chief Resident Engineer with extensive elevated trackway experience is required by a leading global engineering consultancy to manage the design function on a new Mass Rail Transit (MRT) project under way in the City.
Chief Resident Engineer (Elevated Trackway) Job Duties in Malaysia:
-Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the engineering, technical and design program management on this 50km metro project
- Ensure that the project is delivered to the highest technical and safety standards.
-Management and direction of teams of up to 40 Resident Engineers and other inspectorate Resident Site Staff for the construction supervision of all structural elements of the contract.
-Overall technical review and approval of the Contractor’s construction methodology and temporary works including alternative design proposals.
-Monitoring and reporting on the Contractor’s progress of the Works. Review of the Contractor’s planning and Works programme.
-Contract administration including bid/contract document preparation and budget control.
-Value engineering, forensic engineering, troubleshooting, problem prevention / solving and the development and application of new methodologies.
-Liaise with internal & external stakeholders including the Community and Government Departments to facilitate the granting of necessary approvals for the implementation of the work and adopt appropriate methods to maintain the highest quality standard of construction in compliance with all statutory requirements.
-Overview of the quality system implementation, materials approval and compliance testing procedures.
-Overview of safety management systems and risk analyses and implementation of safe working practices on site.
- Identification of contractual problems, presentation of solutions or mitigation measures.
-Interface management with adjacent construction contracts
- devoting time and effort to mentoring and guiding the development of young professionals
Chief Resident Engineer (Elevated Trackway) In Malaysia, Qualifications and Experience Required:
-Degree in Civil engineering and chartered (MICE or HKIE).
- Extensive experience of:
-Engineers’ Representative (Resident Engineer)
- Delivering large scale infrastructure and Rail / metro projects from start to finish constructed within urban environments
-Elevated trackways including viaduct construction and rail systems installations
-Permanent way design and implementation
-Design, planning and construction of heavy civil engineering projects.
- Excellent people management and communication skills
-Communication skills in English both verbal and written
