An experienced Commercial Manager already holding the right to work in Canada, is needed to join a leading construction contractor. They are working on a port project in Vancouver and industrial, LNG and heavy civil engineering projects based from a variety of locations across British Columbia BC, Canada
It is ESSENTIAL that applicants for this Commercial Manager job already have the right to work in Canada and also that they are willing to work initially in Vancouver itself, but then be based from remote project site locations across the west coast of Canada across British Columbia, BC.
Responsibilities and Duties
- As project Commercial Manager on a number of sites concurrently, you will be responsible for administering the contract and handling all remeasurement, variations, pricing updates and procurement issues.
- In addition you will handle all contractual issues based from a bespoke form of contract provided by the project owner.
- You will report to the Company Senior Commercial Manager and the Regional General Manager.
Desired Skills and Experience
- It is expected that suitable candidates will have had 10-20 years' previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar post-contract cost and contractual and contract management type of role.
- Experience on major complex large scale heavy civil engineering, industrial construction or civil engineering projects is desirable, or in LNG projects from a civil engineering or heavy civil engineering contracting scope of works.
- Experience with a major UK or international heavy civil engineering contractor is highly desirable.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- The right to work in Canada is essential as the role is available and needs to be filled as quickly as possible.
- A professional qualification such as BSc Quantity Surveying, MRICS, PMP, APM or comparable is desirable.
