Commercial or Contracts Manager
Responsibilities and Duties
To manage all contractual and commercial correspondence from civil engineering contractors working on a number of major rail civil engineering projects in Hong Kong.
This includes applications for extension of time (EOTs) relating to unexpected ground conditions and a variety of other causes.
The role will include the need to work diplomatically to ensure claims, variations and compensation events are all appropriately evidenced and that the entitlements that are due are successfully claimed and paid.
You will ensure that a wholistic and pragmatic perspective and approach to the administration of live contracts is maintained to ensure projects are progressed and completed on schedule. You will ensure that relationships with contractors are maintained & improved and that all claims are dealt with in a pragmatic & timely fashion.
Desired Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in a Commercial/Contracts Manager role with either a major contractor or rail client body.
Knowledge and experience in dealing with the preparation and rebutal of civil engineering claims is essential.
Experience working for a contractor in a contracts administration role is required
Experience as a Commercial Manager for a contractor on a major rail infrastructure or civil engineering project is desirable background experience.
Professional qualifications such as MRICS, MHKIS, InstCES, MCIOB, ACIArb etc are desirable
