Director - Delay Expert

Project Details
You will be engaged on a range of complex construction and engineering disputes across building, infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. Typical commissions involve forensic delay analysis, time impact analysis (TIA), expert reporting, and testifying before arbitral and court proceedings.
Responsibilities and Duties
As Director – Testifying Delay Expert, you will:
- Lead the delivery of expert witness delay and disruption analysis for high-value disputes.
- Prepare, review, and defend detailed expert reports for use in arbitration and litigation.
- Oversee As-Planned vs As-Built and Time Impact Analyses.
- Directly testify as an expert witness in arbitration and court proceedings.
- Provide strategic case advice to legal teams and clients on delay, disruption, and programme issues.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of delay analysts and forensic planners.
- Support business development activities and client relationship management.
- Contribute to technical excellence and thought leadership across the disputes practice.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in construction delay analysis, project scheduling, or forensic planning.
- Proven experience acting as a testifying expert.
- Strong technical capability in Primavera P6, MS Project, and forensic delay methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple expert commissions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients, lawyers, and tribunals.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification or professional membership (e.g. MICE, MAPM, MRICS, AACE) preferred.
- Recognised expertise and credibility in delay analysis within the construction industry.
